Great graco baby monitor Material
At first we loved this item… It worked quite well in our house with very little static noises, etc. I probably would’ve rated this a 5-stars within the first 2-3 months of usage.
Then, in the past month or so we’re having problems with the power going dead even though we keep the units on the charger bases almost all the time. Before the unit goes dead it makes an annoying beeping noise. We were perplexed, so we inserted the power cord directly into the remote units (instead of the charging base). This has not helped at all. Any time we remove the unit from a base or the power cord it immediately starts beeping at us like it’s out of power.
And, because the internal batteries are not designed to be removed/replaced because they’re the rechargeable kind, we can’t even buy new batteries to put in them. So, so frustrating!!!

I bought this item for my brother’s first baby daughter. I was thinking of a gift to give them but couldn’t decide on anything since most of the items that you would get for a baby were already given to them. And there are some that they’ve already bought. Since I’m into tech stuff, I tried to look for baby monitors. Before, I only knew of baby monitors as either cam or speakers. But this item brought baby monitoring to a whole new level. Aside from being able to hear your baby, it would even track movements and breathing. I tested the monitor (will be able to give it to my niece when I get back home in a couple of weeks) and it does pick up breathing. I tried holding my breathe for 20 seconds and it sounded an alarm that can be heard through the receivers. The monitor would also sound an alarm if no movement is detected from the included mat for 20 seconds. The main unit even has a sensitivity switch to adapt to your baby’s movements.
The package comes with the mat that is hooked on to the base unit and then 2 receivers for parents. All units (receivers and base) are able to use AAA batteries or plugged in via the adaptors which are included in the package (3 adaptors). I wished that the adaptors were auto volt but they are only 120v units. What’s nice about the battery option is that in case of a power failure, the units would automatically go to battery mode. So it automatically uses electrical outlet when plugged in and switches to batteries when unplugged.
This is really a great innovation. Parents would be able to do chores, and sleep soundly at night without worrying how their babies are doing. As I’ve read from other reviews, this item even saved their baby’s life.

My oldest grandchild is three…and when he was very young he had some heath issues that caused us concern, especially while he was sleeping. The Angel Care monitor provided some reassurance. My daughter and her husband loved it and it worked exactly as expected. We have bought 6 or 8 since then, we give them as baby gifts to everyone we love! When my daughter had her second child two weeks ago, I immediately purchased another one for her. We love this item, it is worth every penny!

We’re planning only one pregnancy and Alice is our coming baby. As a first trip parents we’ve heard about many parents that can’ sleep afraid of babies sudden death. Even knowing that there are some precautions to reduce the risk of SIDS, like keeping baby with the belly up, it’s good to know that we’re going to have another eye on our baby 24h / 7day.
We live in a two floors house and is amazing how Graco Angelcare works. After 15 seconds without a movement a bip sounds, 5 seconds later than the alarm. The microphone is very sensitive and the sound in parents unit is not 100% clear but is good.
If you want to relax and take care of your baby, than you should buy one.

The monitor is small and travels great for a parent on the move around the house. The sound quality is very clear, but wish the range was a little longer for outside projects. Overall, great monitor for the price!

This monitor works very well. If you are looking for a monitor that won’t pick up the neighbors and works at a distance – this is it. The only thing about it, is that it is very small. The only reason small is a bit of draw back, is because you could easily lose it if you are that type of person or have other little kids that might grab it and go. The call back feature from parent unit to monitor works well, but doesn’t work if the monitor piece’s battery is dead. So far, we’ve had it for a few weeks and we have no complaints.

After my cheapo monitor konked out (after three babies) I was reluctant to spend almost $100 on a new monitor for baby #4 … but am I glad I did. Super monitor — very versatile & easy to set up. Function is intuitive, except nursery base has a teeny tiny green light on the front to show “on” indicator … didn’t notice it right away (I’m kind of slow, I know ….) so couldn’t figure out if it was on or not at first …. With that figured out, we were set — clear reception, great range. Great product!

We have used this monitor now for about 3 months, and it really is quite perfect! There are two main parts: The pod that sits in Baby’s room – no batteries needed, comes with a power supply plug – and the monitor itself. The monitor is amazingly small – about the size of 1/3 deck of cards or 1-1/2 D-Cell batteries – and comes with a belt clip and lanyard (can use only one at a time.) It also has an arm strap that is best if you like that method. The monitor battery is rechargeable in the compact docking station (very easy to use!) and battery lasts about 5-6 hours.
Sound quality? Excellent. Very low noise, and no interference like you find on the 49 MHz, walkie-talkie style monitors. The transmitter pod is very sensitive, and we can hear the ocean-wave noise maker in her crib over the monitor speaker (helps us go to sleep
. We find the volume levels to be just fine, although we don’t have a particularly noisy household. Nevertheless, when she whimpers, cries or even just coos, we can hear it over the monitor.
I’d highly recommend this monitor if convenience and sound quality are important. Note – it does only come with one monitor, but we find we don’t have a need for two.

After confronting the bewildering array of monitors at a couple of major retail chains, we settled on this model because of the small size of the receiver and the digital technology. We ignored video because a friend had a video model that just seemed too grainy to be of any use, and the signal was really delicate. (Besides, if baby’s crying, doesn’t matter what you see on the screen, you’re walking over there anyway.) We also didn’t feel we needed two receiver units since my wife is the only one at home during the day and we take turns with the night feedings anyway. We definitely feel we made the right choice. The teeny receiver is so convenient and we’ve had no problems with the signal, which we were a little worried about before we bought it, but that’s more because of our past experience with various cordless phones and wi-fi routers — it’s always a crap-shoot. We’ve found that poor reception can be just as much due to the construction of your house, where you place the base station, and the number of other wireless signals in the air as it is the fault of the unit itself. We were relieved to discover that this monitor works perfectly in our circa 2005, 2500 sq ft, two-story house and coexists peacefully with our four-handset 5.8 ghz cordless phone and 2.4 ghz 802.11n wi-fi network (the bases for which are in the same room as the Graco, BTW). We were also surprised at how sensitive the microphone is; it really does pick up every little whimper. The only issue we have is that we had to crank the volume all the way up on the receiver. The charging cradle itself also has a speaker which gives you a volume boost as well, which is helpful and a nice touch. Battery life seems pretty good, and because it’s replaceable I’m not worried about burning it out by leaving it in the charging cradle all the time — I’ll just go get another one at Radio Shack if I have to. All in all, we’re very satisfied and we definitely recommend it. If the receiver were louder (insert “but it goes to 11″ reference here) we’d give it the full five stars.

Have been using for 4 years, practically non-stop and it works fantastic. People are right, no frills. I have only had interference (heard someones cell or walkie talkie) twice. YOu can hear everything your kid is doing. Takes wear and tear well too. Seems very very durable
